I am currently putting together the first issue of a beer newsletter (tentatively titled "The Brews paper"). This will be a local publication for the Southern California Desert but will be relevant to readers across the United States. The newsletter will be distributed free to a subscribed mailing list, as well as being dropped off at various strategic locations.

The purpose of the newsletter is to fill a geographical gap in literature available and also to inform and educate readers of the diversity and complexity often under appreciated in beer.

I anticipate the first issue to be of fairly limited distribution, aimed at gathering a subscription list and a couple of advertisers.

Basic Format

Currently in draft as a 4-page flyer:

Cover: A feature article relating to a local brewer, as well as world beer news headlines.

Inside 1: An article relating to a style of beer (probably Marzen/Vienna) and recommended beers within that style.

Inside 2: Beers reviewed this month (15-20). I am seeking a sponsor/supplier for this page.

Back: Will initially just cover contact information.

Additional columns may include beer in the mail clubs and local events.

There will be advertising opportunities at the foot of the the first 3 pages, but at the moment I am pretty flexible and open to suggestions.
