Adams Boston Lager |
Type: Lager |
ABV: 4.8% |
Golden amber color, immediately hinting at a
fuller than usual lager. Nice foam leaves layers of lace and good level of
carbonation. Good hoppy aroma with a light maltiness. Flavor is slightly
sweet, malty, with a brief hint of spice and notes of hops throughout. The
hop is a little more noticeable in finish, which holds slightly dry. Nice
character for a lager, not overly complex, great drinking. |

Adams Cranberry Lambic |
Type: Fruit beer |
ABV: 4.8% |
Upon my first sip of this beer, I was thinking
"wow, excellent beer", however the flavor soon became a little
sweet, with no maltiness. The sweetness seems to be very overwhelming in
the finish. It kind of reminds me of trying to taste a beer while sucking
on a mint. The start is fairly interesting. It pours fairly lively with a
little foaminess. The body is very light and clear, looking very similar
to a an amber or pale ale. When you put your nose over this you'll get
something a little bizarre. Initially there's a sweet freshness, kind of
like a bubble-gum aroma, and a little walnut. I've heard a few people
recommending this but I say don't bother. |

Adams Octoberfest |
Type: Marzen |
ABV: 5.7% |
Dark amber brew, fairly thick, carries a nice
head. Aroma is sweet, slightly fruity, which comes through in the taste. Flavor
also shows a little nuttiness. Aftertaste bitter but a little short-lived.
Very easy to drink. |

Adams Pale Ale |
Type: Pale Ale |
ABV: 5.25% |
Impressive well-carbonated pour, pale yellow
clear body. Deep malty nose, suggesting a little too much, notes of
raisin, caramel, and honey. Comforting mouthfeel, pretty full and foamy
with a more than adequate carbonation. Starts out very honey-like,
maturing to a biscuity caramel malt, slightly toasted. Finishes a little
sour, slightly dry with a little lemon crispness. A little sticky in the
aftertaste, a little too sweet with a lingering honey flavor and
mouthfeel. Further disappointment also comes from the lack of hop bite
back, and overall the beer doesn’t really balance out enough to refresh
or satisfy. |

Adams Summer Ale |
Type: White |
ABV: 5.2% |
Fairly foamy, light carbonation, golden with
slight wheat haziness. Subtle aroma, hint of spice but predominantly
wheaty, reminiscent of a Hefeweizen. Light maltiness to the flavor, but
more noticeable is the tangy citrus from the lemon, which makes this brew
both crisp and refreshing. The added Grains of Paradise produce a light
peppery citrus note, enhancing the lemon tang. A slight dryness in the
finish makes this an excellent summertime thirst-quencher. I think this is
Sam's best seasonal. |

Adams Winter Lager |
Type: Bock |
ABV: 6.9% |
Amber to dark red, good foam. Immediately
noticeable hoppy aroma, as well as a hint of sweetness. Taste is sweeter,
malty with a good chocolate flavor. The finish is slightly bitter, but the
overwhelming aftertaste is the sweetness. There’s also a little spice at
the end from the added orange peel, cinnamon and ginger. Nice winter
warmer and fairly easy drinking. |
