Southwest of Brussels, in the quiet Belgian town of Vlezenbeek, the Lindemans
family has been farming and homebrewing as long as anyone can remember.
Commercial brewing started in 1811 in their barn-like brewery.
Merchant du Vin introduced Lindemans lambics to the United States in 1979,
making them the first lambics marketed in U. S. history.

I get a feeling that I'm pretty much saying
"same again" with all these beers. Essentially they are the same
thing with a different fruit addition. I felt this one was closer to wine
than any of the others, with a lighter tasting fruit, which made easier
drinking. |

Framboise Lambic |
Type: Fruit Lambic |

A little liveliness, deep bloody red,
head is pink. Unlike most Belgian brews, the head quickly disappears. The
aroma is pretty deep. Of course the raspberry jumps out, but you’ll also
get a little earthiness, which may be hard to detect at first. The beer is
pretty light on the palate and drinks as easily as a sweet cider. I
actually had to discipline myself to drink this slowly. The flavor, as you
would expect, is predominantly sweet, it’s raspberry and it’s also
sweetened to cover the tartness. There is a hint of sourness which hits
you towards the back and a slight lingering dryness. You are left chewing
on raspberries though for some time afterwards. The more studious may
notice that there is actually a beer behind the raspberry. |

Golden color, fresh peach aroma. Sparkling,
crisp and refreshing balance of fruit and acid. More subtle than other
Lindeman's fruit lambics. |
